Excerpt from Cherry On Top (Cherry’s Sex Exploration):

“You’ve got to be joking.” I crossed my arms over my breasts, scowled at the former glam sensation sitting in the chair next to me. Then I glared at the executor. “This is ridiculous.”

“Bloody right it is,” Lenny muttered.

The executor cleared his throat, looked over the will once more. “Those are your brother’s terms, Ms. Logan. You are to own the Purple Pleasure Dome, and live in the apartment above it, with Mr. McDougall, for one year.”

“There is no way I can live with her for a year.” Lenny blew a thatch of teased hair from his dark brown eyes.

I raised an eyebrow at him, met his look of contempt with one of my own. “It’ll be a picnic for me, I’m sure.” To the executor, I said, “What if I walk away, refuse to do this?”

He scanned the terms. “Then you forfeit the rights to your brother’s Vavoom shares, also.”

I frowned at him. “Excuse me?”

Lenny explained instead. “It’s a vibrator your brother invented. It’s worth millions. Damn shame I wasn’t in on that with him, too.”

“I don’t believe I asked you,” I snapped, catching his shrug in my peripheral.

Ignoring me, Lenny leaned forward, placing his long fingers on the desk. “What if I forfeit?”

The executor sighed. His expression grew tired. “Then you forfeit your investment in the Purple Pleasure Dome.”

Lenny drummed the desk. His angular, handsome face grew taut as he appeared to consider this. “Apartment and all?”

Nodding, the executor folded his hands in front of him, placing them atop the blotter.

“Sonofa...” Lenny sighed, gave me a dark scowl that turned his beauty ugly for a moment. Then he sat back in his chair and chewed a fingernail. “I can’t believe that bastard did this to me.”

I shot him a glare, wishing it really held daggers. “To you? I’m his sister.”

He waved a non-committal hand at me, barely glanced my way. “Yeah, but you two didn’t always get along. Doesn’t count.”

“Doesn’t count? Bullshit!” I stood up tall, stretching to my full five-foot-four, jutting my tits out more than I meant to. Lenny had a good eyeful of pert, medium-sized boobs. He noticed I caught him staring, and gave a lecherous grin. I blushed. If we weren’t in the executor’s office, I’d have clocked him one.

“Please, Ms. Logan, sit down,” the executor admonished, and Lenny snickered, adding to my embarrassment—and my desire to hit the bastard my dead brother once called best friend.

“So, let me get this straight,” I said, after a deep, calming breath. “After one year, I can sell my half to Lenny, take my profit, and get away from this derelict?” I pointed.

Lenny shot the daggers this time, and muttered something under his breath I couldn’t make out.

The executor nodded.

“Fine, let’s get this over with,” I said. “How bad can one year with,” I looked Lenny up and down, “him be?

If my brother Alan weren’t already dead, I would’ve killed him for this. I was now co-owner of a small but successful adult entertainment store. And I’d have to live above it, with a man I hated, for one year. But I could use the cash from selling my half to Lenny, plus Alan’s vibrator shares, to pay off school loans.

It wouldn’t be so bad, though, I reasoned, as Lenny and I left the lawyer’s office. I’d be at the institute most days. Studying to be a financial planner took up a huge chunk of my time, so it wouldn’t be hard to avoid each other a lot.

This was my brother’s poor idea of a practical joke. I could almost see him laughing at the two of us, from some afterlife in a dimly lit bar. Bastard. He and Lenny had been best pals since Grade 11, when Lenny had moved to our small town. Back then he was a wannabe rock star with a laid back attitude, and as much a practical joker as Alan. Me, I was more like my parents. Practical, studious, and emotionally cautious.

Lenny and I were like oil and water. Though I only knew him a short time before my parents split, and I went to live with Mom while Alan stayed with dad. My brother, ever the rebel, had stayed best friends with the now ex-rock star until Alan died climbing Mount. Fuji.

One year with a bad Marc Bolan knock off. I would survive.

***

10 Days Later

I got back to the store late from the institute, and Lenny had already locked up. Fumbling for my key in the rain, I cursed him while I let myself inside.

So far, ten days spent with him had its ups and down. In one word, Lenny was boisterous. Learning about sex toys with him was an adventure, to say the least. He exuded a natural sexuality that was hard to resist, I had to admit. His brown eyes were almost black, and he had a way of using them on women. I’d watched him seduce a lady customer with those lost little boy expressions he’d give, and he’d tried the tactic on me more than once over our short time together. If I was honest, living with him was a kind of sexual hell. Sharing the apartment with him was especially tortuous, since he made sure to walk around in next to nothing often. Came out of the shower dripping wet in the tiniest towel possible. While he wasn’t a bulging muscle man, Lenny was fit and nice to look at. Tall and sinewy, but not too thin. Just the right amount of weight and muscle on him.

So far I’d resisted his charms. While I wasn’t a prude, I was a virgin. Oh, sure, I’d researched sex, popped my cherry long ago with the help of sex toys, but I’d never had a live penis in my pussy. The way I saw it, sexual release was great, but men were a pain in the ass. Love was an even bigger pain, and I wasn’t about to let either veer me off course with my life plans.

Still, I had thought for a while I’d like to just get it over with. Experience sex with a warm, sexy male, even if it just happened once. And Lenny was a viable option.

The interior of the store was doused in shadow. From the back room, a sheet of light spilled across the carpet. I left the lights off, let my eyes adjust to the darkness, and crept forward. The sound of two people talking came from the storage area.

As I neared the counter, where a rainbow display of dildos sat inside the glass casing, the voices grew clear. Words mixed with moans and groans of pleasure.

  • Title: Double Alchemy: Climax (Double Alchemy Book #2)
  • Author: Susan Mac Nicol
  • Publisher: Boroughs Publishing Group
  • Release Date: 22nd May, 2014
  • Genre: M/M Paranormal Romance
Powerful modern warlock Quinn Fairmont found ecstasy with the silver-eyed and not-quite-human Cade Mairston, but to know true happiness the pair must best both the shadow of a long-ago lover and an ancient enemy who seeks to destroy love, light and all they hold dear.

A BLINDING LIGHT
It begins with a Book of Shadows discovered by a London coven. The grimoire is as dangerous as it is rare, which is why it evokes modern-day warlock Quinn Fairmont’s desire. He collects objects of great power and beauty—like his lover, Cade Mairston.

Against all odds he and Cade found each other, but their perils have just begun. First is the ex-lover who once held Quinn in thrall. And, someone has been killing warlocks. Could it be one of his own kind? There are those too who would challenge Quinn’s power in their quest to overthrow him as Grand Master. Or is the danger something darker, something invoked inadvertently, rising from the shadows, building from the very inside of a man until it brings an end with a quick flash of light? Of the truth, the surface has only been scratched. Now Quinn and Cade must go deeper and find both answers and an end. They must learn what lurks in the hearts of men…and whether it seeks to love or destroy.

Double Alchemy: Climax Excerpt

Quinn’s eyes flashed violently at his uncle. “I am not fucking losing him to the depths of a bloody Hampstead Heath pond.”
He knelt down beside Cade again, closing his eyes as he tried once more to heal, but the wound just kept seeping blood, now at a much slower rate than before. Cade’s face was ash white, his dark hair standing out starkly against the deathly pallor of his face.
Quinn. Your Cade is nearly gone. You have to put him in the water now before it is too late. There is no time for your modern medicine. He will not survive unless you do it now. The Water Sprites will take him and heal him as long as there is still a spark of life left in him.
“I can’t. Don’t ask me to do that. I can’t.” Quinn’s voice was strangled as he struggled to compose himself. His body was cold, his mind sluggish and he had never felt so desperate.
Daniel strode forward and despite his small and wiry frame, he picked Cade up in his arms. He looked at Quinn, his voice resolute. “He’s dying. This may be the only way to save him.”
Quinn growled and reached out with a hand to hold him back. Daniel sidestepped him and looked at him with a resolute expression. “You can hurt me if you want but it won’t help Cade. This is all we have left to try before he dies.”
Quinn’s hand still gripped him tightly and the older man winced.
“If anyone is going to do this, it’s going to be me.” Quinn’s voice cracked and he held out his arms. Wordlessly, Daniel placed Cade in Quinn’s outstretched arms and Quinn pulled his lover closer to his body. He walked down to the water’s edge and waded in as Daniel watched helplessly from the bank, his face stark. Quinn gently laid Cade down in the water. He seemed to float for a while, hair spreading about in the water like black smoke. His face was still, eyes closed as Quinn held tightly onto his cold hand, rubbing his thumb over the engagement ring. Quinn’s vision blurred as tears filled his eyes.
You need to let Cade go. Let him join his kind below the water. Trust me.
Taliesin’s voice was soft, compassionate. Quinn heaved a shuddering sigh as Daniel joined him in the water, laying a comforting arm on his.
“I can’t—” Quinn shook his head in grief, his heart breaking.
His uncle took hold of his shoulders, firmly holding him back. “There’s no other way, son. Let him go.”
Quinn relinquished his grip on Cade’s hand, standing there as he heard a soft splash and saw the water rippling around them. As they watched, two sets of pale hands emerged out of the water, and slowly, lovingly, Cade was dragged gently beneath the dark waters of the pond. Quinn saw the hand with his ring on it slowly disappear under the water. It was the last glimpse he had of the man he loved.

Writer's Guest Room: Keep Your Enemy Closer by Jessica Frost

Our dear pal Jessica Frost stops by today with a sneak peek at her latest release, Keep Your Enemy Closer: Sexy Men of Mystery Book 6. Check out this story filled with man love and intrigue!

Keep Your Enemy Closer
Sexy Men of Mystery Book 6
Jessica Frost

About: Detective Greg Volenti has led a boring, lonely life up until now. All he’s ever cared about was his job, and catching the bad guys. After getting a lead in the murder he’s investigating, he gets into his car to head to the precinct. But someone’s in there waiting for him and knocks him out. He awakens later in the middle of the forest. No one’s around for miles, except a sexy, unconscious man lying near him. Who is this gorgeous man and what are they doing here together?

Micah Lawson wakes up when a handsome stranger shakes him. Frightened, at first he thinks this man’s the kidnapper who brought him here. But they soon realize they’re both the victims in this sick game.

They must put aside their doubts and fears and trust one another to survive. It proves easier said than done. Micah has an evil secret he’s keeping at all costs. As their sexual attraction and feelings of love blossom, so does the danger lurking in the forest. They aren’t alone. Someone’s listening, watching, and waiting for the perfect time to attack. Can they escape before whoever’s stalking them makes their move?

Excerpt: The icy coldness numbing his body was what awoke Detective Greg Volenti from unconsciousness. His head ached. The trees and their fallen leaves that surrounded him spun like a merry-go-round before his eyes.

“Where am I?” he asked when he lifted his head.

Vertigo reeled him over as he turned to the side and vomited. Bile and what remained of his chicken salad sandwich he’d eaten for lunch spewed from his throat, burning the lining of his esophagus in the process. Sharp, stabbing pains in his abdomen kept him hurling even though he’d emptied his stomach’s contents ten seconds ago. Ah man, that hurt!

He closed his eyes and waited until the spasms subsided and then sat up. His head continued to throb. He touched the back of it and felt a large bump. He didn’t remember hitting it. But from the size of the lump, it was a pretty strong blow.

After a few seconds, he realized his hands stung, as well. He pulled up his jacket’s sleeves slightly and saw scrapes and bruises across the front and side of his lower arms and hands.

He moaned, releasing the breath he’d held for some time. Taking in his environment, he found himself in an unknown wooded area. Panic struck him across the face like a locomotive. How did he get here? The last thing he remembered was getting into his car to head back to the precinct. A rag had suddenly appeared in his peripheral vision and before he could react, his assailant smothered him with whatever it was soaked in, most probably chloroform. Everything went black seconds later. And now he woke up here. How much time had elapsed?

He slowly stood and began to walk around. Other than the disturbed leaves in the area where he’d laid just seconds ago, there was no other sign he’d been dragged or carried to this place. It was as if he just appeared on the ground out of thin air. The possibility wasn’t probable, other than in works of fiction. Someone had obviously dragged or carried him here and then covered their tracks so he wouldn’t be able to figure out where they came from and in which direction he could escape.

Why? Who would have wanted to do this to him? What could they possibly gain from all this?

He had enemies. Yeah. Hell, he had many. Being a detective in the Newark Police Department, that came with the territory. Could this all be related to the homicide case he was working on now? Where three college students were kidnapped from their dorm rooms and found days later mutilated and hanging from tree stumps in various areas around the city? His detective senses said, yes, they were related.

What he didn’t understand was what they would gain by doing this. Was this some sort of game to distract him and the police department so the serial killer or killers could plot more kidnappings and killings? Or was this a warning that if he continued to investigate this case, then bad things would continue to happen to him?

Whatever the reason, all Greg knew was that he was steaming mad. He kicked the oak tree’s trunk in front of him as he continued to walk around the perimeter.

Nothing, no sign that anyone other than himself had been in the vicinity recently. Yeah, these bastards were smart. Damn smart. They knew how to clean the area of any telltale signs to help Greg solve the mystery of who they were and where they’d gone to.

He leaned on the tree and stared into the sky. The beaming early October sun brought some heat to his cold body, but not much. With only his light fall jacket as insulation, he’d freeze soon enough if he didn’t keep moving. Taking a deep breath, he pushed himself off the tree’s trunk and forged ahead.

He had been walking around for ten minutes and wondering how long it would take the guys at the precinct to realize he was missing and put out an APB, when he thought he heard moaning coming from up ahead.

He slipped his hand to where his holster usually sat on his hip before remembering he wasn’t wearing his gun. Other than the clothes on his back, he had no wallet, no cell phone, nothing on him, except his watch.

He thought he saw movement to his left. Hiding behind the tree beside him, he peeked in that direction. From what he could see, something was moving close to the ground. Getting in a crouched position, he moved closer, using trees and bushes as visual obstructions so whoever or whatever was moving wouldn’t notice his approach from the side.

More mumbles floated through the air. It didn’t take him long to realize someone was lying on the ground. He ran to the person. To his surprise he saw an extremely handsome, muscular, dark-haired male lying on the grass in the cover of two small trees. His arms rested by his side unmoving, but his head and legs thrashed from side to side. The man’s eyes fluttered open and closed as if he was fighting to gain consciousness. Greg knelt down beside him and touched his arm. A spark of electricity channeled through his fingers through their contact. An odd sensation of giddiness overcame him and his heart skipped several beats as he admired the unconscious stranger’s face and sinewy body. He touched the man’s cheek and felt like swooning. Why? Why was he reacting like this?

Could he have been drugged? Given some sort of aphrodisiac mixture that had his body acting in this way? He shook his head and tried to rein in his body’s reaction and focus on the dire situation at hand, which was who the hell this person was and what they were both doing here.

The man’s bewitching hazel eyes suddenly sprang wide open. The look of utter fear masked his expression. He jolted up into a sitting position and pushed away from Greg with his feet kicking. He glared up at him. “Who are you? Why did you bring me here?”

Bonus Story: Surrender To His Wants (Surrender Series Volume 2, Part 2)

Excerpt from Claimed by the Bad Boy:

Bekka carefully unwrapped the package that sat atop her glass display case. It was an H.P. Lovecraft original, and being a lifelong fan of horror she couldn’t help but smile wide as she gazed down upon the book. Damn, she thought, It’s nice to enjoy what you do for a living.

Bekka had rented the space for her rare used books/oddities/antiques store around two years ago, right after her divorce from Corey was finalized. The memory of their uncomfortable parting made her sigh as she ran a reverent hand over the book’s cover.

She thought back to their final day together, remembered Corey and Juanita begging her to reconsider leaving. But Bekka had learned one lesson living with her husband and his stepmother for two years: There was only room for one woman in a man’s life, at least, when it came to living under one roof.

After enduring two and a half years with the meddlesome but well meaning woman, Bekka had to admit defeat. It wasn’t that Juanita had meant to gobble up every spare moment of Corey’s time, or that she meant to horn in on their relationship. It just happened. And Bekka, powerless to stop it but desperately wishing she could, had to do some soul searching before she dropped the dreaded “D” word on Corey.

It had practically killed him. She would never forget the look of hollow sorrow in his eyes that day.

“Why the hell am I doing this to myself?” she muttered to a china Buddha smiling cheerily at her from where it sat in a tall, glass display case.

Glancing at the calendar by the door, Bekka came around front to flip the CLOSED sign to OPEN.

She looked down at the dusty motorcycle boots on the other side of the glass, wood-framed entrance. Her eyes followed them up to black jeans, and she swallowed as her fingers closed over the sign.

Two years. Bekka never thought she’d see him again, even though they lived only forty-five minutes apart.

But there he was, standing on the other side of the door, smiling in at her, wearing a black t-shirt and sunglasses. It gave him that enigmatic, slightly dangerous look she’d always loved about him.

Corey Varkov. Her ex-husband. Bekka stared and her hand trembled on the sign.

Corey pointed to the doorknob, smiled—showing his deep dimples—and raised his eyebrows.

Nodding her head, Bekka forced a smile through her shock, fumbled with the key in her hand, and let him in.

“What…” Her voice cracked and her throat dried. “What are you doing here?” She cursed her words for deserting her at the worst possible moment.
